Every year, thousands of Australians make a pilgrimage to Europe to enjoy the summer weather, beautiful scenery and, of course, the exceptional food. But this year, one Aussie foodie has taken things to the next level by travelling all the way to Spain – not just for the food, but as the food.
To demonstrate the epic flavour combo of the new Pickle Flavoured Ketchup to Australians, Heinz embarked on a mission to send a Human Pickle into the world’s biggest tomato festival, La Tomatina in Buñol, Spain.
After a nationwide search to find Australia’s most enthusiastic pickle lover, 23 year old Angus Cummings from the Northern Beaches, NSW was offered the gig of a lifetime as a ‘Human Pickle’ and tasked with attending the world’s most famous (smashed) tomato festival in an oversized pickle costume.
“I am obsessed with the taste of both pickles and Heinz tomato ketchup. I even have a TikTok account dedicated to pickles. So naturally, when I heard about the challenge, I knew I was the right person to rock the suit and show the world how epic and delicious this Heinz flavour combo really is,” says Angus.
“Heinz Tomato Ketchup inspires irrational love and as Australian’s, we can be a little bit irrational when it comes to the foods we love. In fact, our recent research found that three-quarters of Australians (76%) admit to being incredibly passionate about food – and Angus is a perfect example,” says Andrea Payne, Head of Taste Elevation at Kraft Heinz.
The perfect pairing of pickle flavour and tomato comes together at last in Heinz Pickle Flavoured Ketchup and it’s sure to thrill both pickle fans and ketchup lovers nationwide. The new flavour combines the delicious taste of tomato ketchup with dill pickle flavour for a tangy and delicious sauce that can go with just about anything.
Passionate picklers and Ketchup lovers don’t need to make the trek to Spain to enjoy the new delicious combination. New Heinz Pickle Flavoured Ketchup is available in-store at Coles now and in Woolworths and Metcash nationwide from 14th October.
