Sydney is a beautiful city in Australia, famous for many of its landmarks, such as the harbour, many beautiful beaches and the Opera House. It is obviously a top spot for tourists and a must see location if you visit the country.

Next to the famous Sydney Opera house lies the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge which is not to be missed. The locals have nicknamed the bridge the ‘Coathanger’ and it is the world’s largest steel arch bridge. For an amazing experience it is definitely worth signing up to actually climb the bridge. You can choose a climb that takes anywhere from 2-4 hours and climbing the bridge will give a magnificent view of the Opera house, the harbour and the whole Sydney skyline.

A trip to Sydney will never be complete without a trip to world famous Bondi Beach. It is one of the top surfing beaches worldwide due to it’s very impressive waves. Even if you don’t fancy giving surfing a go it is still a fantastic place to go, hang out and people watch. It is a fantastic place to swim, sunbathe and just stroll around and has a really edgy and alternative feel to it. Bondi is also a great place to pick up a souvenir in one of its many surf and fashion boutique style shops. The walk from Bondi to Bronte Beach offers superb views and great spots for picnics and is worth checking out.

In the eastern suburbs of the city lies the Royal Randwick, a horse racing course, aptly named ever since the visit of the Queen in 1992. It is seen as the crown jewel of Sydney’s horse racing and is definitely somewhere not to be missed on any visit to the city; if you are lucky enough to be there when a race meeting is being held. It is the home of the world’s richest 4000m turf race in the world with $10m in prize money, the Everest. A Unibet spokesman confirmed it is indeed one of the most popular horse races in the world which attracts loads of betting. Furthermore, it is an incredible venue with 25 bars and restaurants to choose from, so even if someone in your part doesn’t like horse racing they can still thoroughly enjoy the experience the Royal Randwick has to offer.

If art is your thing then make sure to check out the Art Gallery of New South Wales, that is located in the same complex as the Royal Botanic Garden. There is such a wide range of art to be found here, ranging from Picasso originals to aboriginal art and contemporary photograph collections. There is also a good chance that on a visit here you will come across an artist holding a demonstration or giving a talk, which can be great to experience. There are often temporary exhibitions or events held here too, so have a look what is on before deciding when to pay the gallery a visit. The gallery is open every day from 10am to 5pm, but if you would like a late evening or night visit then the Art Gallery of New South Wales is open until 10pm on Wednesdays.
