Tasmanian Bakeries hits for six with surge in summer demand for the Little National Pies and Pastries range

Australians are heading into another scorching summer, and it seems there’s one snack dominating esky lids, poolside spreads and backyard cricket breaks. National Pies has revealed there’s a sharp seasonal surge in demand for its Little National Pies & Pastries range, cementing party pies and mini sausage rolls as a true summer staple.
Taking off in Victoria in the mid-20th century thanks to their convenience, portability and perfect fit for gatherings, party pies have only grown in popularity, with Australians eating around 270 million meat pies a year — roughly 11 per person — cementing its place as a true Aussie staple.
Tasmanian Bakeries CEO Geraldine Tebbutt said the company consistently sees summer sales spike as Aussies look for quick, comforting crowd-pleasers.
“With so many social gatherings during the warmer months, our Little National Pies and Sausage Rolls fly off shelves as they’re perfect for pool parties, festive get-togethers and as an easy snack for kids home on holidays,” Gerladine said.
“Our Little National Pies and Little Sausage Rolls are incredibly convenient. Delivered fresh to store, you’ll find them in the fridge aisle — not the freezer — thus making them some of Australia’s quickest pies to cook. They’re ready in just 10 minutes, or even faster in an air fryer, so there’s less time spent in the kitchen and more time enjoying the sunshine.
“Made with 128 layers of crispy puff pastry and 100% Australian beef, our Little Classic Beef National Pies and Little Sausage Rolls are available nationally in 12-packs and as a mixed pack.”
In addition to National Pies’ Little Classic Beef Pies and Little Sausage Rolls, Victorian and Tasmanian customers can also bite into Little Chicken and Camembert National Pies as well as Little Curried Chicken National Pies which are both made with the company’s signature puff pastry and 100% Australian chicken.
National Pies products are available in Woolworths nationally, selected Coles stores and independent retailers including IGA and FoodWorks. They’re delivered fresh, so you’ll find them in the fridge aisle. They’re also served hot in select Bunnings Café & Cart locations — making it even easier to get your summer fix.
